Sod delivery across Pinellas County

Not everyone wants a crew in the yard. Landscapers, DIY homeowners doing their own install, and property managers ordering for multiple units all just need pallets on the ground, cut fresh and delivered on schedule. That is the whole job here: no install labor, no crew walking the property, just sod cut to order and dropped where you tell us to drop it.

We order from regional sod farms and schedule delivery around the cut date, not around our calendar. Sod that sits stacked on a pallet loses quality fast in Florida heat, so we do not warehouse it and we do not sell you sod that has been sitting for a week. Most orders placed by early afternoon go out next-day; larger commercial orders may run a few days out depending on farm availability.

Delivery-only vs. installed pricing

Delivery-only sod costs less per square foot than installed sod because you are not paying for install labor, but the gap is smaller than people expect. Installed Floratam runs $0.65 to $0.95 per square foot; delivery-only runs $0.30 to $0.45 per square foot, plus a flat delivery fee. If your yard needs any grading, old grass removal or edge cutting, doing it yourself on top of a delivery-only order often ends up close to what installation would have cost, minus the warranty.

How delivery works

  • Pallet count confirmed against your measured square footage before the truck loads.
  • Delivery scheduled for a specific window, not an all-day guess.
  • Pallets set by forklift or tailgate depending on driveway access and truck size.
  • Placement discussed in advance — driveway, curb or staging area closest to the install zone.
  • Sod cut the same day or the day before delivery whenever the farm schedule allows it.

What sod delivery costs

Pricing is per pallet, which covers roughly 450 to 500 square feet depending on turf type and how the farm cuts it. Floratam and Bahia typically cut closer to 500 square feet per pallet; Zoysia often runs slightly less per pallet because the slabs are cut differently. A minimum order is one pallet; most residential yards need six to twelve pallets for a quarter-acre lawn.

JobTypical rangeWhat moves the price
Floratam pallet, delivered$150 – $190Order size and distance
Zoysia pallet, delivered$190 – $250Order size and distance
Bahia pallet, delivered$140 – $175Order size and distance
Forklift/tailgate placementIncludedStandard driveway access
Difficult access delivery+$25 – $75Narrow streets, hills, gated communities
Same-day rush (subject to availability)+$40 – $90Farm cut schedule permitting
Order a few extra square feet, not a lotWe build in a small overage for cuts around curves, beds and obstacles, usually five to ten percent. Ordering a whole extra pallet on top of that just leaves you with dead scraps once it dries out on the driveway.

Lay it fast once it lands

Fresh-cut sod is a living product from the moment it leaves the field, and it starts declining as soon as it is stacked. In summer heat, sod left on a pallet more than 24 to 48 hours can yellow, generate internal heat from the stacked blades composting against each other, and lose enough vigor that it struggles to root even after it goes down. If you are doing a DIY install, plan to lay everything the same day it arrives, water it immediately, and do not let pallets sit through a hot afternoon before you start.

Timing your order right

Order sod to land the same day, or at most one day before, you or your crew plan to lay it. Ordering a week ahead because it is convenient for your schedule usually means paying for sod twice — once for the pallets and once in labor re-wetting and picking through what has already started to yellow by the time it goes down. If your timeline is not locked in yet, tell us and we will hold the order until it is.

Delivery-only or full install

If prepping the ground, laying in a staggered pattern with tight seams, and managing the first two weeks of watering sounds like more than you want to take on, sod-installation covers all of it with a one-year establishment warranty. Delivery-only makes the most sense when you already have the labor lined up or the site prep handled and just need product on-site.

Commercial and multi-property orders

Landscapers, HOAs and property managers ordering for several addresses at once get a standing account with locked-in per-pallet pricing and can call in an order rather than reworking a quote every time. We coordinate delivery windows around your crew's schedule so pallets land when someone is actually there to lay them, not sitting on a driveway a day early.

Where we deliver sod

We deliver throughout Pinellas County with no distance surcharge inside our normal service area, including Clearwater Beach, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Largo, Belleair, Countryside and Oldsmar. Gated communities and narrow lots sometimes carry a small access fee, which we will flag before the truck is scheduled.

Sod Delivery FAQs

$150 to $190 per pallet for Floratam, $190 to $250 for Zoysia, and $140 to $175 for Bahia, each covering roughly 450 to 500 square feet. Most driveways with normal access do not pay an extra delivery fee. Difficult access, like narrow gated-community streets, can add $25 to $75.

Roughly 450 to 500 square feet, depending on turf type and how the farm cuts it. Floratam and Bahia typically run closer to 500 square feet per pallet, Zoysia a bit less. We calculate your exact pallet count from a measured square footage during the quote, not a rough guess.

Often yes if you call before early afternoon and the farm has the cut available, though it depends on their schedule, not ours. Next-day delivery is the more reliable standard we quote, and we will always tell you honestly if same-day is not realistic rather than promise it and miss.

Yes, throughout our Pinellas County service area. Some gated communities and narrow interior streets add a small access fee because tailgate placement takes longer or the truck cannot get close, which we will flag before scheduling rather than surprise you with on delivery day.

24 to 48 hours at most, less in peak summer heat. Stacked sod generates its own heat and starts yellowing quickly once cut. If your install timeline is not locked in, tell us before ordering and we will hold the delivery rather than send sod that sits.

Per square foot, yes. But once you factor in your own labor for grading, laying and the first two weeks of watering, the total cost gap narrows. Delivery-only is the right call if you already have labor lined up or the ground prepped; otherwise sod-installation often works out close in total cost with a warranty included.

One pallet, roughly 450 to 500 square feet. There is no large minimum for residential orders, though very small orders under a quarter pallet are better handled as a spot repair through our installation service instead of a standalone delivery.

All three. Floratam St. Augustine is the most common order, but we regularly deliver Zoysia for upgrade lawns and Bahia for large low-maintenance acreage. Availability and lead time can vary slightly by turf type depending on what the supplying farm has cut that week.

Yes. Repeat commercial accounts get locked-in per-pallet pricing and can call in orders directly rather than requoting every time. We coordinate delivery windows around your crew's schedule so sod lands when someone is on site to lay it.
