Sod & Mulch Are All We Do

No mowing route, no tree work, no full landscaping crew stretched across ten trades. Sod installation, sod delivery, mulch installation and mulch delivery across Pinellas County — which is why we know exactly what fails here and when.

A sod-and-mulch-only crew in Clearwater

Most companies that will lay your sod also mow, trim hedges, spray for weeds and do whatever else came through the phone that week. There is nothing wrong with that, but it means sod and mulch are the thing they fit around other work. For us, sod and mulch are the only work. That focus is the whole reason we can tell you within a few minutes of walking your yard whether the soil and irrigation will support new sod, or whether you are going to be disappointed by August.

We have installed sod and mulch across Pinellas County — sandy barrier-island lots in Clearwater Beach and Island Estates where drainage runs fast and salt air stresses turf, and heavier inland soil out in Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor where grading matters more. Different soil, different failure modes, different answers.

How we price, and why we publish it

We put our actual price ranges on the website, which almost nobody in this trade does. The reason is simple: homeowners have no way to judge whether a sod or mulch quote is reasonable, and that information gap is where people get overcharged. If you know sod should run $0.55 to $0.95 a square foot installed and someone quotes you $1.60, you have learned something useful.

Every estimate is free and on site. We measure the yard, check grading and irrigation, test how the existing grass is doing, then hand you a written flat price. That number does not change once work starts unless you change the scope. There is no deposit required to get a quote and no obligation to book.

What we will tell you that costs us money

If your existing lawn just needs bed edging and a mulch refresh, not a full sod job, we will say so. If your irrigation has a dead zone, we will flag it before quoting sod, because new sod laid over a dry spot dies in the same spot every time and that is a callback we do not want either. If Bahia will do the job for a third of what Zoysia costs on a lot that size, we will tell you that too. We would rather have the referral than the extra square footage.

Licensed and insured Florida contractor with liability coverage on every job. We will send our license number and a certificate of insurance before work begins, and HOAs and property managers can request documentation for their files. [License number to be added at launch.]

Materials we actually use

Floratam as our standard sod for most yards, because it balances shade tolerance and density well in this climate. Zoysia where foot traffic and drought resistance matter more than upfront cost, and Bahia for large, low-maintenance, full-sun lots. On the mulch side: premium pine bark as the default, pine straw for acid-loving beds and the lowest cost per bed, cypress where wind and flooding are a concern, and rubber mulch for playgrounds and beds nobody wants to top off every year. Our mulch comparison walks through where each one earns its cost.

The warranty, in plain terms

One year on sod establishment when you follow the watering plan we give you at install. If sod fails to root because of an installation issue on our end — grading, prep, or a bad batch — we come fix it at no charge. What it does not cover is neglect: a broken irrigation timer nobody noticed for three weeks, a dog that digs the same corner, or a drought period where the watering plan was not followed. That is not a workmanship failure, and we will repair it at our normal per-pallet rate rather than pretend otherwise.

Questions

About our company

We have installed sod and mulch across dozens of Pinellas County yards. Add your real founding year and years of experience here before launch — specific numbers build far more trust than a vague claim about being established, and this is the single most common question on estimates.

Yes, licensed in Florida and carrying liability insurance on every job. We provide the license number and a certificate of insurance before work begins, without being asked. HOAs, condo associations and property managers routinely need this for their files and we send it as a matter of course.

No. The people who quote your job are the people who do it. That matters more than it sounds: a subcontracted crew has no stake in whether the sod actually roots, and no reason to flag a grading or irrigation problem that would shrink the job. Our warranty only works because the same crew owns the result.

Because the details are where these jobs fail, and you only learn those details by doing nothing else. Grading a yard so water does not pool, matching sod variety to sun exposure, spreading mulch to the right depth by bed type — none of that is obvious, and all of it decides whether the job lasts. Specialising is how we keep callbacks low.

Call us and we come back. Establishment issues within the first year tied to our installation are fixed at no charge, as long as you followed the watering plan we gave you. Damage from neglect, irrigation failures, or pets is repaired at our normal per-pallet rate. Either way you get a real person on the phone rather than a warranty claims process.

Not for estimates, ever. For scheduled work we generally collect on completion after you have walked the yard with us and confirmed you are happy. Very large commercial jobs are the exception, and any deposit terms are stated in writing on the quote before you agree to anything.

Yes, and we do it regularly. If your existing lawn just needs bed edging or a mulch refresh instead of a full re-sod, saying so costs us a job today and usually earns the job later plus a referral. The homeowners who become repeat customers are almost always the ones we talked into spending less on the first visit.

Yes. We handle HOA common areas, community entrances and commercial landscape beds in addition to residential yards. We provide a certificate of insurance and W-9 up front, and can invoice associations directly.

Yes. The homepage gallery shows recent jobs tagged by neighborhood and service type. We are also happy to give you addresses of completed yards in your area so you can drive by and look, which is honestly more convincing than any photo we could show you.

Twelve communities: Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Island Estates, Harbor Oaks, Countryside, Belleair, Belleair Bluffs, Largo, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and Oldsmar. No trip charge on any of them. Outside that radius, call and ask about larger jobs.
